A primary end-product for the Summit includes the development of educational modules that can be used to teach
exercise medicine and physical activity promotion (EM-PAP) to all sports medicine fellows and others around the world. EM-PAP training has been identified as a significant gap in educational programming for sports medicine physicians, which creates a barrier for utilizing EM-PAP in clinical practice.
Thanks to a generous donation by Oosterhealth and financial support from AMSSM, the development of educational modules is underway and will provide a forum with which to collaborate with international experts and organizations.
More information on the modules will be provided during the Summit, but it is the ultimate vision of AMSSM and the developers of the modules that these will be freely available so they can be used for EM-PAP education worldwide.
